The legend of Shambhala inspired this painting of the Tangla range of mountains seemingly floating in the space of the borderland at the horizon of consciousness. Shambhala concerns itself with being the abode of the 'Shining Ones' or the elder brothers or the Brotherhood of spiritual Masters. Because all such masters are enlightened beings, having been initiated into union with the Divine Light - or Spiritual Sun/Son - by virtue of their spiritual efforts over the millennia of countless lives, the combined spiritual vibrations create this 'City of Light'. Seated within the Indigo Robe of the Divine Mother the countless Stars of Light reflect the community of stars radiating from the Heart chakras of the spiritual masters in this Sacred City - Shambhala. The Light of the Full Moon is likewise associated, in the mind of the ancients, with a time of Spiritual Communion. That One Divine Light is reflected within the human personalities of these Perfected Ones. Nevertheless, these beings are not remote from humanity but living within the consciousness of the One Human Family - they are simply our elder brothers.
