Track 1: THE TEMPLE WITHIN (10:16) which features Frank’s overtone singing with his 12th century Heart Chakra Tibetan singing bowl within the beautiful acoustic space of The White Temple – this is also the companion track to SINGING CRYSTAL on RAINBOW HEALING PEACE. Frank's style of overtone singing comes close to that of David Hykes. The song has its roots deep within the inner meditative silence of spiritual contemplation. Beginning with the sacred sound of OM repeated three times Frank moves into his vocal improvisation dwelling on those tones which resonate with the (inner and outer) space of the White Temple. This takes as its inspiration the Divine truth that each and every one of us carries within this wonderful gift from God – the Great White Light. The overtone chanting revolves around this One Central Note of the Inner Temple. A song of praise to the one Self within All.

Track 2: MOUNTAIN OF THE SHINING ONES (40:35), a long track derived from a totally spontaneous improvisation upon the complete collection of all his instruments and a fine example of Frank’s ‘vertical’ improvisations – where there is no ‘linear’ development; one is quite simply in the eternal now. It really is hard to describe Frank's improvisations for the music is constantly changing from moment to moment - as Frank's music seldom features repetitive patterns. Broadly speaking, the several sections largely alternate between Petalumines and Gongs, nonetheless, clusters of bells also appear. The deep Paiste tuned gongs reverberate beautifully within the White Temple acoustic. The Petalumines were invented and built by Frank in the late 1970's and are unique in the world with the largest one ringing on for five minutes! Two exceptionally rare Tibetan bowls - ‘Talking Bowl’ and ‘Whistling Bowl’ - also appear in a section dedicated to themselves alone. The  improvisation ends with long high and drawn-out bowed sounds. Both of these opening pieces come from ‘The White Temple1986 recording sessions, benefiting both from the acoustics and the sublime spiritual energies of the Temple of the Star Brotherhood and using the one ‘sound-field’ microphone with no editing or mixing possible. Frank actually recorded the ‘Talking Bowl’ at the time quite simply for his own pleasure but when putting together this album found that it was precisely the right length and sound to complete this beautiful improvisation. The ‘shining ones’ are those great spiritual masters, adepts, and initiates abiding upon that Mountain at the spiritual centre of the world - Shambhala.

Track 2: MOUNTAIN OF THE SHINING ONES. Click HERE for sound clip.  My music features little repetition and unfolds more like a conversation or poem . This clip is but part of a larger whole. Unfortunately, some of my sounds do not faithfully reproduce into MP3's.

Finally, we include a brand new piece:

Track 3 MESSAGE FROM SHAMBHALA (21:58). This last track comes in answer to requests from many people for something similar to Frank’s ‘live’ festival performances and also close in affinity to the opening track except that here his powerful overtone chanting – including Tibetan Tantric ‘Undertone’ chanting – is framed by very deep Tibetan bowls overlaid with the exceptionally exotic and haunting sounds of special ‘Water’ bowls – deeply potent sonic vibrations! Yet another of Frank’s shamanic journeys to this ancient and mythical spiritual centre. It takes as its theme this City of Light, City of Fire, or Land of the Holy Ones or those great initiates, adepts and masters to whom H.B. Blavatsky referred as The White Lodge. Whilst most overtone singing in and around the Mongolia region is rooted in songs, Frank’s takes a more shamanic form of spontaneous transmission of other states of consciousness expressed through these unique word-transcending vocal sounds and anchored in the spiritual through the drone supplied by a 12th century Heart Chakra singing bowl.

The Russian artist Nicholas Roerich created several paintings titled Message from Shambhala or the alternative title Shambhala Daik. Whilst the CD track isn’t associated with any one of these particular paintings, yet it shares the same inspiration for this piece.  Below are such paintings by Roerich on this sublime theme.
