Peace is a necessity not a luxury.

Peace is intimately bound up with the spirit of goodwill and with the principle of harmony.

When all is at peace then there is no friction - only perfect harmony with the Universal Life.

We all need to find that deep inner peace of the spirit. This experience is known by some as 'The Voice of the Silence.' With the cessation of activity of our physical, emotional, and mental bodies we enter into tranquillity, serenity, and quietude and begin to hear the Voice of our inner teacher (or In-Tuition), or our own Higher Self or Divine Self that is universal in nature and thereby links us with all other beings born of the One Supreme Universal Being.

As more and more of us connect to this deep inner peace of the spirit so we will transform this world of ours. The god of War for the Greeks was the god Mars and it is true that in initially responding to the energies from the planet Mars it would most likely manifest as warlike activity. In its highest form, this Martian energy is courage and fortitude - both qualities very necessary for following the spiritual path. The Martian Ray is likewise associated with self-will and assertiveness - which is not the same as aggressiveness.

In Tibetan Tantra anger is a distorted manifestation of the Water element and stems from fear. The Tibetans naturally have techniques for coping with the distorted qualities of each of the elements.

There is such a high level of disturbing noise in our environment that many of us seek the more harmonious vibrations of peace in  solitude and quietude. However, this is nothing compared to the level of 'psychic noise' polluting our planet. Living in a society so focussed upon materialism and money-making and yet undergoing such tremendous changes, creating instability, many of us are uncertain of our future. We need to remind ourselves that we are surrounded by Divine Light, Love, Wisdom, and power.

Mars can also be paired with Venus. Each of these planets is on either side of our Earth. One moves towards the Sun the other outwards towards Saturn. In fact, Venus and Mars are a pair. The Energy of Mars needs the Idealism of Venus. The idealism of Venus likewise requires the muscle of Mars in order to get things done. When these two planets work in harmony, therefore, there is peace. This implies that the Dove (symbol of Venus) of Peace is required to guide our Martian self-will into higher forms of energy. This idealism is then a form of ethics, whilst our every action is an externalisation of our ideals or thoughts. So arises the question: do our thoughts, our feelings, and our actions reflect the highest of which we are capable or not? This becomes an eternal discipline in the process of individualisation.

At the very beginning of each day, therefore; at the moment of awaking we need to reconnect with our highest purpose here on Earth in order that our ensuing actions may be in harmony with our spirit. Our spirit being at-one with the Universal Spirit will therefore seek harmony, peace and goodwill and perhaps each one of us can spend a few moments before we begin our busy day aligning ourselves with these principles that we may move towards manifesting more peace in our own lives and then this peace will spread like a 'Great White Carpet of Peace.'

If we are creative artists, musicians, writers whatever, we will wish our creative activity to reflect this inner peace of the spirit and to assist others in finding this inner peace so that this 'revolution' will be an inner one directed by each and every single one of us. Others will have to reconcile their own conscience in their field of action. It becomes untenable to work in a factory which creates guns, for instance, when we desire peace. Similarly, it is quite unacceptable for a government to promote peace whilst supplying people with arms with which to kill others. If enough people were able to put their conscientiousness above survival needs, then perhaps we could reach a point where every member of a society would refuse to be involved in creating weapons of destruction. Perhaps, in centuries to come, the entire planet will be committed to peace and then we could finally rid this dark planet of ours of the ability for war.

The power to take life is also a tremendous responsibility. However, once we have evolved to the realisation that there is no death and that all life is governed by Law - which ensures that we get away with nothing - perhaps we will realise that this responsibility ultimately returns to ourselves; for 'What a man does, he has to pay for, or he receives compensation for good works.'

Northern Ireland is a case in point. After many years, more and more members of that society became sickened with war and desired from deep within their spirit for peace. And peace finally came. It is still far from stable, yet it proves what we can accomplish when the desire (Mars) is there!

May the Angel of Peace draw nearer to Earth's Humanity with each passing year and may understanding and tolerance increase within the hearts of all people. May Peace abide on Earth.

May the Great White Spirit Bless All!
